UsableNet,  develops software solutions to improve web-sites with the aim of making them more easily usable and accessible. UsableNet's products analyze by themselves web pages, signalize usability faults and advise how to correct them.

UsableNet's headquarter is in New York and it was founded by two Italian entrepreneurs: Paolo e Giorgio Brajnik. UsableNet's main clients are large companies and government institutions in the USA, such as NASA, KPMG Consulting, Hewlett Packard, Raytheon, NIF, USAF, among the others, besides the main universities (Yale, MIT, Duke, Penn). The European and Japan markets are developing as well. The research centre is in Italy.

LIFT machine products, the first software of web usability developed by UsableNet, has been awarded the "US GOVERNMENT COMPUTER NEWS Best New Technology Awards 2003". In addition UsableNet's LIFT technology has been chosen by EduServ, a non profit UK organization which provides advanced ICT technologies to the education service.

EduServ has provided the whole UK universities, nearly 750 institutes, a 8000 pound funding to buy and implement UsableNet's web accessibility testing services.
Text Transcoder is a new software which automatically creates a text-only version of web sites. This product meets the increasing demand of text-only web pages in order to make web sites accessible even to users with disabilities or to PDA and UMTS users.

LIFT Text Transcoder can be bought both as an ASP service and as a sever to be installed locally.
